Residents in Belleeks raise concerns around quality of work carried out on homes

Belleeks Housing Executive

Housing Executive residents in Belleeks have raised concerns around the maintenance of their properties in the south Armagh village.

As a result, Sinn Féin Councillor Oonagh Magennis met the local Housing Executive manager, Liam Gunn, along with residents of Carraigbrae on Tuesday to highlight concerns around the issues.

The Slieve Gullion councillor said: “A number of residents in Belleeks contacted me recently to inform me of a number of issues with their housing.

“In response to these concerns I invited the area manager of the Housing Executive out to meet with myself and a number of the residents.

“The residents highlighted a number of issues around maintenance and the quality of works carried out to these homes.

“I also pointed out that the estate had been without appropriate signage since its inception – which poses an issue for both residents and emergency services.

“The area manager of the Housing Executive has committed to following up on all of the issues that were pointed out today as quickly as possible.

“It’s important that workers and families across South Armagh have homes that are both safe and suitable.”
