The Department for Infrastructure can no longer be accused of ‘ducking’ their responsibilities when it comes to the headline-hitting Marlacoo Road in Richhill.
The road got so bad for flooding even the ducks couldn’t tell the difference (see above).
However, following extensive lobbying by local representatives, the floody nightmare has come come to an end!
TUV Councillor Cllr. Keith Ratcliffe says he is delighted that DFI finally took the action often asked for.
“This particular road caught headlines some months back due to a duck being pictured in the pothole,” said Councillor Ratcliffe.
“I’m delighted for the local residents that the Marlacoo Road has been re-surfaced. No doubt this is will have a positive impact on their standard of living.
“I’m continuing to engage also with the River’s Agency to ensure measures are put in place to prevent repeat flooding and I look forward to further action on this front in the near future.”
