Pet Domain, the popular pet lovers paradise based just outside Richhill is celebrating two years in business!
Headed up by young entrepreneur Rachelle Mackin, this one-stop-shop for all things pets has been proven a huge success since it arrived on the forecourt of the GO filling station on the main Portadown-Armagh Road back in 2022.
As part of it’s continued success, Rachelle has expanded her pet portfolio by recently acquiring the Lisburn-based online pet food store, ForPetzNI, one of Northern Ireland’s leading online pet stores.
ForPetzNI, which ship a huge range of products for animals of all shapes and sizes, marks a significant new adventure for Rachelle, expanding her offering beyond the local pet store.
“They specialise in natural dog foods and have a lot of subscribers”, said Rachelle. “We are keeping Pet Domain and ForPetzNI separate, but we hope to market the website towards a bigger audience than Pet Domain.”
Reflecting on the progress that Pet Domain has made since it’s opening, Rachelle said: “We’re only two years in and we’re already expanding!
“The business has grown a lot in that time. We didn’t even have the car park when we first opened and the shop was about two/thirds of the size.”
She added: “The customers have been great. We’ve got a lot of regulars and it’s good to see people come in. You see people come in with their puppies and you see them growing up and it’s great having people that come to you for advice.
“I just want to continue growing and keeping up that homely environment!
“In the next few months we will be looking to expand the range and add more Pet Domain stock onto the site.”
A testament to Rachelle’s dedication, she has again been nominated for the NI Pet Awards, which are being held on June 8.
Pet Domain has been nominated for the best independent pet shop and best accessories retailer awards.
