New pizza restaurant set to be served up approval in Portadown

New eatery would accommodate at least 60 diners at a time when it opens at Magowan West

A new pizza restaurant could be opening shortly in Portadown.

Plans for the development are being recommended for approval to Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council.

An application – in the name of Dungannon-based Moyallen Properties Ltd – was submitted during the summer months.

The site in question is at Magowan West.

The substantially-sized new restaurant would take up two units – numbers 19 and 21 – when up and running.

The company behind the plans had sought a change of use from retail purposes to allow the restaurant proposal to go ahead.

Portadown’s latest eatery would stretch to in excess of 240 sq metres.

It would have considerable seating available for eating on the premises – for at least 60 diners at a time – and would also operate takeaway facilities.

No objections have come from any statutory agency to the plans.

Planners are satisfied that the new restaurant development can proceed and that is the opinion which will go to the ABC Council planning committee when it sits mid-November.

Councillors will then have the final decision on whether or not to approve and accept the professionals’ recommendation.
