A man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Portadown in the early hors of Sunday morning.
A PSNI spokesperson confirmed: “Detectives in Lurgan, investigating an incident in the Brownstown Road area of Portadown in the early hours of Sunday 9th September, have charged a 32-year-old man with attempted murder, assault and possessing an article with blade or point in a public place.
He is due to appear at Lisburn MC on today (Monday).
As is normal procedure all charges are reviewed by the PPS.
Two other men aged 27 and 43 who were arrested in connection with this incident have been released unconditionally.
Shortly before 3.45am police a man, aged in his 30s, was violently assaulted and ended up in hospital as a result.
