Police hunt masked man after attempted hijacking

Police are currently hunting a masked man after an attempted hijacking in county Armagh this morning.

The incident happened in the Pinebank area of Craigavon at around 3.25am this morning, 10 September.

A white Volvo articulated lorry was driving towards the roundabout close to Pinebank when a masked man emerged from the side of the road.

The man was wearing a balaclava and dark clothes.

He raised his arms and pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the lorry. The lorry did not stop and continued on its journey.

The male is described as being around 5ft 8in tall and of slim build.

Chief Inspector Davy Beck said: “We would like to hear from anyone who has any information in relation to this incident. We can be contacted in Lurgan on 101, quoting ref: 76 100915.”
