Is summer over? Normal service resumes as rain – and plenty of it – returns!

Mixed bag in store with rains forecast through weekend and beyond

Normal service has resumed.

Norn Iron has just experienced summer ahead of the schools letting out for the holidays.

The rain has finally landed but the temperatures remain in the mid-teens.

If you have got used to leaving the house without your coat and brolly though it may be time to rethink that.

We are in for a rain-soaked weekend according to forecasters so if you are planning to take a trip to Balmoral Show or out and about over the next few days be prepared.

Several muggy dull days lie ahead.

Friday afternoon will remain cloudy with heavy rains expected from teatime onwards – carrying right through, on and off, until tomorrow morning.

And while there might be a respite during the afternoon, more heavy showers – although we may see a bit of sun – are expected tomorrow night.

There may be some sunny spells throughout Sunday but again these will be peppered with showers and short-lived.

And going into Monday all bets are off – heavy persistent rain is on the horizon just to put you in the mood for the start of another working week!

Ah yes, summer – nice while it lasted!
