A young teenage girl was approached by a man in his fifties as she walked to school this morning.
Police in Newry are appealing for the driver of a silver car who was in the Erskine Place area this morning, 24 November, to contact them.
Around 9am a 13-year-old girl was walking along Erskine Place when a silver car pulled up alongside her and the driver offered her a lift to school as he was travelling in that direction.
The girl declined and returned to her home.
The driver is described as being aged in his 50s and had grey hair and a moustache.
Constable O’Connor said: “We are currently conducting enquiries to establish the exact circumstances of this incident and would like the driver of the car to contact us. We would also like to hear from anyone who observed this incident. We can be contacted on 101.”
