Detectives in Newry are appealing for information following a burglary in Ashton Heights.
Around 7pm on Monday 14 December, the male occupant of a house heard a knock at his door but didn’t answer.
He went upstairs and looked outside before hearing a loud bang.
The back door of the house had been forced open and the sensor light above the back door had been smashed.
Detective Constable Gina Quinn said: “We are keen to hear from anyone who has information that may assist our investigation. We do not believe the house was entered and nothing was taken.
“During follow up enquiries we received information that a Southern registered silver Volkswagen Golf had been seen in the area around the time and that two males, one of them wearing a puffa jacket, had also been seen.
“If you have information that could help us, please contact us in Ardmore on 101, quoting ref: 1043 141215.”
If you prefer to provide information without giving your details you can contact the independent Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
