Two girls had bleach thrown over them in a shocking attack in Newry on Monday evening.
The girls were assaulted by a group of 11 boys around 9pm on Monday evening.
The frightening ordeal in the vicinity of the Quays Shopping Centre.
Sergeant Gibson has appealed to anyone who may be able to help, to come forward as soon as possible.
He said “Police received reports that between 9pm and 9.30pm in the area of Quays Shopping centre car park towards the Drumalane side, two girls were assaulted by a group of 11 males who threw a bottle of bleach at them.
“I would ask that anyone with information contact police at Ardmore on 101 quoting ref 1269 14/8/17, or if you wish to remain anonymous Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
Fortunately the two girls did not sustain any serious injuries as a result of this attack.
