A teenager who burgled a pub making off with lager and lemonade must wait until next month to be sentenced.

Court heard that although the 19-year-old had no prior convictions he had previously been cautioned for theft.

Jamie Sedtke, of Rossmara Park, Warrenpoint, pleaded guilty to burglary at Newry Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

As the charges were read, it was heard that on February 5, the defendant entered as a trespasser Number Seven Duke Street, Warrenpoint, stealing lager and lemonade.

Defence counsel stated: “This was the burglary of a commercial premises. You may need a report. He has no record but does have a previous caution for theft.”

District Judge Steven Keown requested that a pre-sentence report was ordered in the case.

Sedtke was released on continuing bail to appear on March 25 for sentencing.
