Detectives have been granted an additional 36 hours to question a woman over the suspicious death of a man in Newry on Saturday.
Police say they received a report at 12.45pm yesterday afternoon, that a man, aged in his 40s, had sustained a serious injury in the Fisher Park area of Newry.
Emergency services attended, and the man received medical treatment at the scene before being taken to hospital. Sadly, he later died from his injuries.
In an update on Sunday evening, police said detectives have been granted the court extension to detain and question a 50-year-old woman in connection with the man’s death.
