A major new farm shop is being planned on the outskirts of Newry.
An application for the development has been lodged with Newry, Mourne and Down District Council.
It has been earmarked for what is described as a “brownfield site” on the Belfast Road.
The proposals have been submitted in the name of Gary McGeown.
The development, if approved, would stretch to close to 6,000 sq ft, the majority of which – close to 4,000 sq ft – would be earmarked for sales.
The modern and stylish new structure would also incorporate storage and office facilities.
It would also include 55 parking spaces in total.
According to the application, an estimated six staff would be employed on site daily.
The proposals will now be advertised shortly.
