Five vehicles deliberately set on fire in Newry business yard

Police are appealing for information following the report of arson at a business yard in the Newry area in the early hours of this morning, Saturday, May 17.

Sergeant Cushley said: “It was reported at around 3am that five vehicles parked in the Chancellors Road area of Newry had been set on fire. Our colleagues from the NIFRS attended and extinguished the fires.

“Four vehicles have been completely destroyed as a result with a fifth vehicle partially damaged, which has been determined as deliberate.

“Our enquires are continuing and we would appeal to anyone who might have been in the area around 2.50 am this morning.

“We’d be particularly keen to hear from anyone who has dashcam or other footage.

“The number to call is 101, quoting reference 186 of 17/05/25.”
