A 42-year-old man has been arrested after police responding to reports of an intoxicated man acting suspiciously in Newry discovered significant damage to both the outside and inside of a property.
The arrest was made in the Chequer Court area of the city on Saturday evening, September 5.
At approximately 11.15pm officers attended the area, noting the damage which had been caused to the outside of a property.
A police spokesperson said: “The inside of the house had also been damaged. Subsequent enquiries resulted in the arrest of a 42-year-old man on suspicion of a number of offences.
“Enquiries are continuing to determine the circumstances of what happened.”
