New Year old problem as Gosford’s troublesome parkers now blocking road out of Markethill too

'Cars were not only parked along the hard shoulder at the entrance to Gosford, but on the entrance to Markethill town itself. We could hardly see and had to edge out into the middle of the road to see.'

New Year, Old Problem!

The issue of parking at Gosford Forest Park is still very much a reality.

And for residents of Markethill, it has grown worse, as the vehicles are now obscuring the roads converging from the town on to the main carriageway.

Previously cars had parked along the hard shoulder blocking the entrance on either side of Gosford Forest Park.

People making the most of the Bank Holiday and the start of the New Year to get out and active flocked to the Co Armagh beauty spot in their droves on Friday.

And these photographs show just how bad it has become as the opposite side of the park is now also crowded too.

Said one local resident: “The parking was atrocious at Gosford today.

“Cars were not only parked along the hard shoulder at the entrance to Gosford, but on the entrance to Markethill town itself.

“We could hardly see and had to edge out into the middle of the road to see.”

With promises of continued efforts to resolve this issue, will 2021 be the year that it is achieved?
