A Newry man was fined £30,000 for failing to comply with a DoE planning enforcement notice.
Francis McGuiness, of Newtown Road, Cloughoge, was also ordered to pay £805 in legal costs and £15 court costs at Newry Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Monday), February 16.
The enforcement notice required the appellant to demolish the building at the rear of 43 Newtown Road, Cloughoge, Newry and area of concrete hardstanding in question, remove resulting rubble and reinstate the area by covering in topsoil and sew in grass seed.
The man was prosecuted under Article 67A of the Planning (Northern Ireland) Order 1991.
