Two brothers have pleaded guilty to intimidating a single mother in her Lurgan home last year.

Adrian Douglas, 34, of Carrick Drive admitted intimidation while his older brother Alister Douglas, 37, of Charles Baron Gardens, admitted aiding and abetting his brother on April 30, 2023.

The pair also admitted a charge of attempting to cause criminal damage to a front door belonging to Danielle Skelton. That charge was left on the books.

It was footage recorded from the ring doorbell that landed the two brothers in court after they were captured shouting sectarian abuse such as “get this fenian out” and “the taig’s in” as well as hammering and kicking the door.

On spotting the doorbell camera, one of them tried to prise it off the door frame and with the video posted online, the footage has been viewed thousands of times and has evoked public revulsion and condemnation from all quarters.

The pair were released on bail and sentencing was adjourned until the Probation Board have complied pre-sentence reports.

The case – and sentencing – will be concluded on March 8.
