Craigavon Magistrates Court

A Lurgan man who is accused of making and distributing indecent images of children will face the Crown Court next month.

The particulars outline that all of the charges against the 34-year-old are alleged to have occurred between September 2012 and September 2014.

Christopher Anderson, of Lawrence Square, appeared charged with six counts of making indecent images, eight counts of possessing indecent images, two counts of possession a prohibited image of a child, two counts of possession of an extreme pornographic image and nine counts of distributing indecent images of children.

Standing in the dock at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday, the defendant made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.

Prosecution submitted that based on the papers that were before the court there was a prima facie case to answer.

Defence solicitor Siun Downey made no contrary submissions.

District Judge Steven Keown stated that he was satisfied there was a prima facie case.

Anderson was released on his own bail of £500, to appear at Craigavon Crown Court on March 31 for arraignment.
