
A Co Armagh school was forced to close to pupils for the day after two teenagers broke in and set a fire.
Police are investigating a report of burglary and arson at Lurgan Junior High in the Toberhewny Lane Lower area of the town in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday, May 14.
Inspector Carolan said: “We received a report of burglary at the school just after midnight and when officers arrived, a fire was observed within the school grounds. Police contacted the NI Fire & Rescue Service, who subsequently attended the scene.
“Two males – a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old – have been arrested on suspicion of burglary and arson and remain in custody at this time.
“Enquiries are ongoing and at this stage, the fire is being treated as deliberate.”
