
Drogheda is the canvas for Lú Festival of Light, animating the streets and skies in a vibrant celebration of the regions ancient myths and legends.
The Lú Festival of Light will take place in Drogheda from October 24 to 27, transforming the town into an open-air gallery.
The event offers a dynamic celebration of ancient mythology, providing attendees with an opportunity to experience Drogheda from a new perspective.
Perfect for all ages, the 2025 programme features additional shows, events and music across the town, and extended opening hours for local cafés and bars.
Drawing inspiration from Ireland’s rich myths and legends including stories such as Cú Chulainn & Ferdia, The Morrigan, and Queen Meábh, visitors can expect impressive light displays, immersive installations, and engaging performances that combine light and sound, collectively turning Drogheda’s streets into a vibrant theatre of light.
Lú Festival of Light 2025 is set to be the premier urban animation and lighting event in Ireland this year and will deliver dazzling displays, rich storytelling, extraordinary street performance and immersive atmosphere within the town.
The Festival runs nightly from 7-9.30pm.
The Lú Festival of Light is delivered in partnership by Love Drogheda Business Improvement District (BID), produced by Visual Spectrum, and proudly funded by Louth County Council, Love Drogheda BID, Drogheda Councillors and supported by Fáilte Ireland.
