St Patrick’s High School in Keady has welcomed Teddy, its new ADNI (Assistance Dogs Northern Ireland) Therapy Dog, to the school community.
Already a much-loved member of the St Patrick’s family, Teddy will play an important role in supporting pupil wellbeing and helping to create a happy, inclusive and nurturing environment where every young person feels valued and supported.
Working alongside staff, Teddy will provide emotional support and encouragement, helping pupils who may experience anxiety or require additional pastoral support.
His role will also include supporting nurture and inclusion programmes, encouraging reading and communication, and promoting positive engagement across the school.
Principal Kelley McKenna said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Teddy to St Patrick’s High School. Teddy will play an important role in supporting pupil wellbeing and helping us to create an environment where every young person feels safe, valued and supported.”
Teddy’s arrival reflects the school’s commitment to its vision of Belonging, Growing and Achieving, helping young people to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.
Pupils and staff have already welcomed Teddy enthusiastically, with his calming presence proving a positive addition to school life.
