Raw sewage spewing onto streets of Keady

Residents in a Co Armagh town are kicking up a stink as raw sewage spews onto their main street.

The “extremely high amount” of raw sewage is spilling onto the main Kinelowen Street in Keady with the smell being described as “horrendous”.

Sinn Fein councillor Darren McNally says he has reported the issue to Environmental Health.

“There is an extremely high amount of raw sewage coming from a manhole at the junction between bridge street and monument in Keady,” he said.

Adding: “The smell is awful, [and] the rain is washing a lot of it away. I’ve reported this to NIW and environmental health for action. NIW REF 00100426.”

SDLP councillor Thomas O’Hanlon has also escalated the issue as “urgent” with NI Water this morning.
