Armagh City Hotel is gearing up for a Christmas to remember with a wide selection of festive events and offers.
The celebrations begin on Saturday, November 27, coinciding with the ever-popular Georgian Day, when Armagh attracts thousands of visitors to the city and in keeping with the spirit of the day, the hotel is serving Georgian Afternoon Tea in the restaurant.
This amazing offer includes a glass of mulled wine on arrival, festive afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and pastries, Christmas novelties, such as crackers and poppers, all set against a background of seasonal entertainment. The Tea is served from 2pm – 5pm, with booking necessary at least 24 hours in advance.
Meanwhile, throughout December, the hotel will be hosting its festive afternoon teas, which also need to be booked 24 hours in advance and for everyone who loves a party, the Christmas party nights are back in the main function room on Saturday, December 4 and Saturday, December 18.
The nights, which are always popular with companies and groups, consist of a festive choice dinner menu with live music followed by a DJ. Music on December 4 is by Justin McGurk and on the 18th, its Marty Fay.
Christmas Lunch is being served in the Friary Restaurant between 12:30pm and 2:30pm throughout December and for diners who prefer Christmas dinner, it is also available in the restaurant throughout December, served between 6:30pm and 9:30pm.
Alongside this, the hotel will also be holding its daily carvery in the Callan Bar, where there will also be a grill bar menu every day from 3pm. There is no need to book.
Of course, Christmas means shopping for many people, and for those who want to do so at their leisure, and treat themselves at the same time, the hotel’s Shop and Stay package allows guests to stay overnight and this includes breakfast.
They receive a hot chocolate drink on arrival, a £20 voucher to spend in the restaurant, bar or deli, and a discount voucher book to use in the independent shops around Armagh.
The offer, which runs until December 23, includes full, complimentary use of the health and fitness club. Pool times must be pre-booked in advance due to current restrictions.
A Senior Citizens’ Festive Lunch is also being held on Tuesday, December 14 at 1pm. It’s a three-course meal with tea or coffee, followed by music from Ace-Hi.
Cheryl Patterson, the hotel’s sales and marketing executive, said the hotel was looking forward to a busy Christmas season as the hospitality sector returned to normal following the coronavirus lockdowns and restrictions.
“It’s great to be busy again,” she told Armagh I. “We have received a large number of enquiries and bookings, in particular for the party nights, and we recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.”
The hotel is also accepting the Shop Local vouchers, while its own gift vouchers make a welcome Christmas present.
Customers are advised to keep an eye on the Armagh City Hotel website and Facebook page for any other offers and events.
Accommodation can be reserved online and the party nights and luncheons can be booked by calling reception on 028 3751 8888 or email info@armaghcityhotel.com
