Family of young man missing from Sunday appeal for help in finding him

The family of a missing man who has been spotted in Co Tyrone have appealed for help in finding him.

Charlie Whelehan (23) left home in Kinnegad, Westmeath, on Sunday evening in his white Vauxhall Combo van. It has roof racks and the registration number is 06CN 3886.

Yesterday, the first sighting of Charlie was captured on CCTV in the Coalisland/Maghery area.

He is 6ft tall and slender with brown hair. He was on foot and wearing a navy tracksuit, green jumper and navy jacket.

In an appeal, shared on the Missing Persons Helpline Ireland Facebook page, his family said neither they nor his friends have heard from him since Sunday.

“This is very uncharacteristic of him and we are all worried sick… We just want him home safe,” they added.
