Not for the first time in recent years a Co Armagh-based sportswear company is selling off its entire warehouse stock this weekend with all proceeds going towards a bereaved family.
Playr-Fit – which is based in the Cloughoge Business Park, outside Newry – made the decision to hold the event to provide much needed support to the family of Oran Marron, who tragically passed away in Australia on Sunday (September 21).
The much-loved, 21-year-old Crossmaglen man passed away following a short illness, having only moved to Perth earlier this year.
From an early age, Oran had been deeply involved deeply involved with his local GAA club, Crossmaglen Rangers who paid tribute to their esteemed former teammate and friend following his untimely death.
And, now the sportswear brand – whose founders both have roots in GAA – have offered to host a Warehouse Clearance Sale for the benefit of Oran’s family.
This is the second time Playr-Fit have put their business to benevolent use, having hosted a similar sale in 2023 to support the Grimley family of Madden when a unspeakable road traffic collision saw three children left without a mother and father.
The sale will be held in their HQ in Newry this Saturday (September 27) from 9am–4pm with lots of bargains in jerseys and hoodies.
All monies taken on the day will be donated to the family of Oran Marron, to support them through this very difficult time.
Said Playr-Fit: “Your kindness and support will mean so much to the local community.”
A separate GoFundMe page has also been opened to help bring Oran home. Having been live for less than 24 hours at the time of writing, it’s total now stands at over £40,000.
Organisers have also confirmed that any excess funds raised will be donated to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust and the Meningitis Trust.
