Two suspicious objects in Craigavon declared as ‘viable devices’

Police checkpoint night

Residents in an area of Craigavon were evacuated following a security alert late last night (Saturday).

Police and Army Technical Officers were called to the scene in the Enniskeen area after the discovery of two suspicious objects 11.45pm.

A cordon was put in place and a number of houses were evacuated while police worked on making the area safe.

The two suspicious objects found at the scene have been declared viable devices, police confirmed early this morning, following hours of working on the operation.

Residents have now been allowed to return home.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “Thank you to those affected for their patience as we worked to make the scene safe”.
