Rushmere Centre Post Office is to move next month to its previous location to restore a permanent Post Office to Craigavon.
It will open at 29 Rushmere Shopping Centre, Craigavon on Wednesday, November 18 at 1pm.
It will be operated by an experienced postmaster who has been operating the temporary Post Office which restored service to the community.
The interim Post Office has been operating from the first floor of the shopping centre since September 7 whilst a permanent solution was worked towards. This will close on Tuesday, November 17 at 5.15pm.
A previous plan that was consulted on – to move the branch to 21 Rushmere Centre – could not proceed.
Rushmere Centre Post Office will be open Monday to Friday: 9am – 6pm; Saturday: 9am – 4pm; Sunday: 9am – 1pm.
This will mean that the branch is open 64 hours a week, which is an extra 20 hours per week than currently, including Saturday and Sunday afternoons and no lunchtime closing.
Janese Sung, Post Office Retail Change Lead said: “We know how important a Post Office to the residents and businesses in Craigavon. We are delighted that we have a permanent solution opening soon and that the temporary service allowed us to restore service sooner.”
