A Craigavon man who told police “you can’t get my details, I am not f****** giving them to you” has been ordered to pay a fine of £200.

Fionntan John Martin, 31, of Hall Rampart, pleaded guilty at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday to disorderly behaviour.

The incident occurred on May 11 at around 11.50 pm, when police were called to the Batcave, Lurgan, were staff had to restrain a man who had been in their bar.

It was heard that the defendant had to escorted out of the premises after refusing to leave.

Once on the William Street he began shouting and was detained by door staff.

Police arrived and cautioned the man telling him that members of the public were being affected.

He continued and when asked his name by police he said “you can’t get my details, I am not f****** giving them to you”.

Martin was subsequently arrested for disorderly behaviour.

Defence counsel said a lot of alcohol had been taken, adding that the language had not become any more derogatory than that stated.

He explained Martin had been goaded into a fight by another patron of the bar.

It was heard that the defendant had pleaded guilty at the first opportunity and only had one offence on his record – a driving matter for which he was cautioned in 2013.

Martin was ordered to pay a fine of £200, along with the offender’s levy of £15 within five weeks.
