The case is due back before court in January

Craigavon Area Hospital

A sentenced prisoner accused of causing damage in a Co Armagh hospital will have to wait until the New Year to be sentenced.

The 36-year-old’s barrister commented that due to the “locus” of the offence and the defendant’s record that the court may seek a report prior to sentencing.

Conor Patrick Mallon, of Ballyvester Grove in Bangor, pleaded guilty to criminal damage at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Friday, via videolink from Maghaberry.

The 36-year-old damaged a picture at Craigavon Area Hospital on July 5, of this year.

Defence barrister Conor Lunny stated: “He is a sentenced prisoner but due to the locus of the offence and his record, it happened in Craigavon Area Hospital, it may be one where your worship requires a presentence report.”

The case was adjourned until January 10 for sentencing.
