Defence said his client was subject to a live suspended sentence

Craigavon Court

A Portadown man who pleaded guilty to possession of both Class A and B drugs – as well as pepper spray – will learn his fate next month.

Court heard that the 26-year-old was currently subject to a suspended sentence.

Josh Wright, 26, of Tullyroan Gardens, pleaded guilty to possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of Class A and possession of Class B drugs at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

It was heard the offences occurred on December 5 of last year and the weapon referred to was pepper spray.

District Judge Bernie Kelly commented: “I think I am going to need a presentence report for this.”

Defence Barrister Aaron Thompson stated that Wright was subject to a live suspended sentence.

The case will return for sentencing on August 7.
