Man accused of growing cannabis worth £105,000 at Craigavon was recently ‘extradited from Norway’

A man charged with cultivating cannabis plants worth an estimated £105,000 at a house in Craigavon was recently “extradited from Norway”, a court was told.

Mindaugas Lengvinas, with an address listed as no fixed abode in Banbridge, is charged with offences on January 24, 2022.

The 33-0year-old is also accused of possessing cannabis with intent to supply; dishonestly using electricity; criminal damage to an electric meter; and possession of a prohibited weapon, namely pepper spray.

He appeared at Craigavon Magistrates’ Court on March 21 via video from prison and was further remanded in custody.

It was said a co-accused had previously been in court.

The charges come after cannabis plants worth an estimated £105,000 were discovered during a search of a property at Legahory Court in 2022.

A defence lawyer said the defendant had previously been bailed and after he left the country he was recently “extradited from Norway”.

She said he was going to be entering guilty pleas.

The case was adjourned to March 28.
