Man accused of being concerned in the supply of heroin to face Crown Court

A man accused of being concerned in the supply of heroin will face the Crown Court later this year.

Craigavon Magistrates’ Court heard the 47-year-old is alleged to have been involved in the supply of the Class A drug between April 19, of 2016, and February 5, of this year.

Rui Miguel Lima, with an address of Fortview Terrace in Cookstown, appeared in court charged with possession of Class A, possession of Class A with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of Class A, using a vehicle without insurance and no vehicle test certificate on Wednesday.

As the charges were read out, court heard that the defendant was alleged to have been found in possession of heroin on February 5.

Lima is also accused of being concerned in the supply of heroin between April 19, of 2016, and February 5, of this year.

Stood in the dock, the defendant made no objection to holding of a preliminary enquiry.

Prosecution stated that based on the papers before the court they believed there was a prima facie case to answer.

Defence solicitor Pat Vernon said: “That is accepted your worship”.

Lima was released on his own bail of £500 to appear before Craigavon Crown Court on December 5 for arraignment.
