Man accused intent to supply cannabis to face Crown Court

A man accused of being in possession of cannabis with intent to supply will face the Crown Court later this year.

Brendan Cavanagh, 30, of Georges Island Road, Aghalee appeared charged with possession of Class B and possession of Class B with intent to supply at Craigavon Magistrates’ last Wednesday.

As the charges were read it, court heard that the offences were alleged to have occurred on January 17 of this year, with the substance involved being cannabis.

Stood in the dock, the defendant made no objection to the holding of a preliminary enquiry.

Prosecution submitted that based on the papers before the court they believed there was a prima facie case to answer.

Defence barrister Damien Halloran made no contrary submissions.

Cavanagh was released on his own bail of £300 to appear at Craigavon Crown Court on December 5 for arraignment.
