County Armagh businesses to avail of £208m European funding

County Armagh businesses have been urged to begin preparing robust cases in order to access new European funding.

More than £208m has been made available through the Special European Union Programme Body (SEUPB) as part of their new cross-border co-operation programme

The money, which will be divided into four categories of research and innovation, the environment, sustainable transport and health, will allow over 400 businesses to access money as well as bringing improved environment projects to over 10,000 people.

Newry and Armagh MLA Mickey Brady said the funding presented a real opportunity for people in the constituency.

“This money will soon be available for small businesses and enterprises along the border region in order to improve employment opportunities as well as environmental projects,” the Westminster candidate said.

“I would appeal to businesses and interested groups across Newry and Armagh to start preparing robust business cases as applications for this money will be very competitive.

“The application process and deadline dates will soon be on the SEUPB website at www.seupb.eu and I would urge businesses to monitor the website so that deadlines are not missed.”
