
A woman has been arrested following the discovery of two two pipe bombs in Dromore earlier this month.
The devices were found at premises on Church Street in Dromore on Wednesday, April 2, triggering a major security alert and the evacuation of several buildings, including a local nursery school.
Army technical officers made both devices safe and removed them for forensic examination.
Earlier today, Thursday, April 17, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Tactical Support Group (TSG) carried out a search at a property on North Queen Street in Belfast.
A woman in her 40s was arrested on suspicion of possession of explosives in suspicious circumstances. She has been taken to Musgrave Police Station for questioning, where she remains in custody.
Police enquiries are ongoing.
4.25PM UPDATE: A woman arrested in north Belfast this morning as part of the investigation into the discovery of two pipe bomb-type devices in Dromore on April 2, has been released on bail following questioning, to allow for further police enquiries.
