Banbridge influencer announces new addition after ‘horrendous’ fertility struggle

A Banbridge-based beauty blogger and social media influencer has delightedly announced that she and her husband will be welcoming a new addition after years of unsuccessful fertility treatments.

After meeting through a dating app, Taylor-Rae Falconer – of Dirty Doll fame – married her business-owner, John Falconer on August 6, 2022, at a glitzy summer-style wedding in Ballyscullion Park with cocktails, canapés and a saxophonist.

Through her online videos, the former beauty queen and TV personality has also gleefully shared how much she has relished the opportunity to become a step-mum to John’s son, Harry… with their close relationship helping the young woman realise how much she would one day love to have a child of her own.

However, the last number of years have been an emotional rollercoaster for the pair who have spoken candidly with their following about their struggles to conceive.

In March 2024, Taylor-Rae publicly shared her incredible heartbreak after losing twin babies after receiving In‑Vitro Fertilisation (IVF). She described the loss as “horrendous” and said she’d “never felt sadness like it”.

In the hope of promoting healing and more open discussions about pregnancy loss, they bravely shared their story.

Yet despite her obvious heartache and emotional turmoil, she has weathered all manner of online trolling… all of which she speaks about to help promote responsible digital behaviour and kindness. Yet, it has never stopped her from sharing her experiences.

In a recent social media update, Taylor-Rae recently teased that she had an another announcement pending.

At the edge of a bed, together with John in their “comfies” she said they would be going offline until Sunday, so that they could finally say something they were “looking forward” to sharing.

Then, on Sunday, December 7 at 4pm, they released a video with the caption “Somewhere over the rainbow” – a commonly used term for babies who arrive after the loss of a child – with the first slide coyly reading “we’ve been keeping a secret…”

The video which has now amassed over 24,000 views on Facebook alone showed the pair surrounded by pink walls, ribbons, teddies and nursery furniture… indicating that a new arrival may be on its way!

All smiles, John and Taylor-Rae hang bunting on on of the walls before walking away hand-in-hand to reveal the words, “We have adopted!”

The camera pans out to show a fully-furnished nursery and a wardrobe filled with clothes in clear anticipation of their new addition.

At the end, John spoke to say: “The journey was long and it was difficult but my goodness, it was worth it.”

The couple will welcome their long-desired baby girl home on January 15, 2026.
