The Air Ambulance has been tasked to the scene after reports of a pedestrian being struck by a motorbike in Banbridge.

The incident happened on Sunday morning.

Eyewitnesses report that the collision happened close to ‘The Cut’ in the centre of the town.

The annual ‘Burger Run’ – a charity bike ride event – was taking place at the time.

It was being held this year to raise funds for the Northern Ireland Air Ambulance.

Local Ulster Unionist Alderman Glenn Barr said his “thoughts are with the biker and pedestrian who were involved”.
