Weather warnings for two days of ‘frequent and heavy hail and snow’ across Co Armagh

Met Office warns of dangers and disruption

It you thought you had seen the last of the freezing cold conditions think again.

Forecasters are advising of major disruption with two days of winter conditions on the way.

Yellow weather warnings for both snow and ice across Co Armagh have been extended on Monday morning.

The Met Office is warning of “frequent and heavy hail and snow showers”.

The weather warnings come into place from 6pm on Monday and are expected to continue throughout Tuesday.

The warnings remain active until 11am on Wednesday.

During that time, the Met Office has advised people to be aware of the potential for danger and disruption.

On Sunday morning, the Met Office updated earlier warnings as it informed: “Travel delays on roads are possible, with a small chance of cancellations to public transport.

“There is a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.

“In addition some roads and pavements may become icy, increasing the chance of injuries from slips and falls.

“This warning has been updated to extend its validity time into Wednesday.”
