Gosford and Slieve Gullion Forest Parks will be closed to the public until further notice as Storm Agnes approaches.
The Met Office has this morning (Wednesday) issued a yellow warning for rain on top of the wind warning already in place.
As a result, our local forest parks have been shut as a safety precaution.
An Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council spokesperson said: “We will keep you informed on any further closures or disruption to service and update once Gosford has reopened.”
Winds are expected to peak around 3pm on Wednesday afternoon with upwards of 60mph gusts expected across Co Armagh; these could reach 70mph in coastal and elevated areas.
The yellow warning for rain is in place from 11am until 8pm, while the wind is expected to last from wind from 12pm until Thursday at 7am.
Agnes is the first official storm of the season.
