Police probe into overnight arson attack on cars sales business in Armagh

Fire at car sales business on Killylea Road in Armagh

An investigation has been launched following an overnight arson attack on a car sales business in Armagh.

The incident occurred at premises on the Killylea Road around 4am on Friday morning.

Police said they received a report that a number of cars were on fire at 4.10am.

Officers, along with colleagues from the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS), attended the scene and the fires were extinguished.

No one was injured, however a substantial amount of damage was caused to the vehicles.

Police say the blaze is being treated as arson and enquiries are ongoing.

A police spokesperson said: “We appealing to anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious people or vehicles in the area, or anyone with CCTV or other footage that could assist with the investigation, to get in touch on 101 number quoting reference 117 of 06/03/26.”

A spokesperson for the NIFRS said two appliances from Armagh Fire Station and one from Keady Fire Station attended the incident at 4.12am.

“Firefighters were called to reports of seven vehicles on fire on Killylea Road, Armagh. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets and one jet to extinguish the fire. The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate ignition and the incident was handed over to the PSNI. Firefighters left the scene at 5.43am.”
