Plans have been lodged for a new-build two-storey house – and garage – on the site of a now derelict primary school in Middletown.
The applicant – Paudie Lappin – is proposing to demolish the former Glassdrummond Primary School, which lies within close proximity to a family home.
The school, which had an enrolment of just under 100 children, closed its doors back in June 2000, following the amalgamation of three small local primary schools into what is known today as St John’s.
The derelict building, based on the Glassdrummond Road, would make way for a the new property.
The application was lodged with planners at Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council earlier this month and correspondence with the relevant agencies this week.
The proposals, which will be advertised shortly, will be considered in the coming months with a decision expected to be issued in the early part of 2025.
