Our Lady’s Primary School, Tullysaran, is inviting prospective pupils and their families to visit the school on Friday January 10, 2025, from 9:30-10:30 am.
This is an opportunity to meet staff and observe pupils participating in a variety of activities.
Our Lady’s Primary School is a modern facility set within beautiful grounds, which include two playgrounds, an onsite play park, expansive grassy areas, and a trim trail that will be added this month.
The school operates from 8am to 5pm daily and offers a broad range of afterschool activities, including support for the SEAG Transfer Assessment.
Led by Principal Tomás McKee and Vice-Principal Aidan Forker, the school is committed to fostering a welcoming and safe environment where students can thrive and enjoy high standards of learning.
Principal Tomás McKee shared: “I am excited to welcome prospective parents and pupils to Our Lady’s to witness first-hand how our pupils and staff collaborate in our outstanding facilities.”
Reflecting on the successes of 2024, Mr. McKee highlighted the school’s achievements, including receiving the Cumann na mBunscol School of the Year award and being the first primary school in Armagh to earn the Level 5 Armagh Cumann na mBunscol Merit Award.
“Our pupils enjoyed a year of notable successes,” Mr. McKee said. “They triumphed in the County Armagh Indoor Camogie Championships, represented Armagh at the Ulster level in Cumann na mBunscol camogie and quiz competitions, and our boys won the Medium Schools Malachy McGeeney Championship at the Box-It Athletic Grounds.
“The highlight of the year was our spectacular school production of The Greatest Show, performed by our P6 and P7 pupils to two sold-out audiences at Tullysaran Community Centre.”
The school community also celebrated Armagh’s All-Ireland victory, with Vice-Principal Aidan Forker playing a key role in leading the team to success in July.
In September, Our Lady’s hosted a special celebration with First Minister Michelle O’Neill and Lord Mayor Sarah Duffy to honour Mr. Forker and the team’s achievements.
Mr. Forker reflected: “It was a truly emotional and meaningful occasion.”
In addition, the school opened its Relax Room, a safe and peaceful space where pupils can unwind and take time for themselves.
Mr. McKee emphasized the importance of this new space for the wellbeing of our students and expressed his delight that construction work began in October to provide additional space to support children’s learning.
Looking ahead to 2025, the school is excited to open three new rooms and continue offering outstanding learning experiences in a safe and welcoming environment for all pupils.
