A gas leak in Armagh city this morning (Wednesday) has forced police into closing the road in both directions.
The Newry Road – close to Ashley Park – was reduced to a single lane for motorists as a result of the incident.
However, upon further investigation and advice, the road has now been completely closed to traffic in both directions.
Police say this is likely to remain the case for a number of hours while crews work on fixing the problem.
Diversions are in place at the PSNI station and the Cavanacaw Road.
Please avoid the area if possible.
