Armagh City was alive with rhythm and celebration as the 7 Hills Blues Fest made a triumphant return from Friday 1 to Sunday, August 3, drawing thousands of music lovers, families, and visitors.

With over 40 free gigs across 15 venues, the city was transformed into a vibrant hub of live music, artisan markets, and family-friendly entertainment.

From the soulful sounds of Rob Strong Band and Clara Rose to the raw energy of Crow Black Chicken and the Pat McManus Band, the festival delivered an unforgettable musical experience. Rising stars like Banshee and Zac Mac wowed audiences with their talent, while local favourites including Villiers and the Villains and Courtnay Giffin brought homegrown flair to the stage. The Blues Trek proved a hit once again, guiding festivalgoers through a musical journey across Armagh’s venues and open-air spaces.

Saturday’s city-wide celebration was a particular highlight, with The Shambles Artisan Market, Market Street’s street food stalls, and walkabout performers creating a buzzing festival vibe. Families enjoyed face painting, balloon modelling, and a popular ‘Art on the Rails’ exhibition, while students from MD Rafferty Music School added youthful energy with their city-centre busking.

Deputy Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, Jessica Johnston commented on the events success: “The 7 Hills Blues Fest truly showcased the best of Armagh’s cultural heartbeat. The event not only celebrated music but also brought the community together, supported local businesses, and welcomed visitors from near and far. Thank you to everyone who attended, performed, volunteered, or played a part in making the weekend such a resounding success — your energy and enthusiasm brought the festival to life.”
