Emergency services were tasked to a water rescue in Armagh on Sunday evening after two children ended up in the Callan River.
The incident occurred in the Glen Macha area, off Cathedral Road, at around 8.27pm on Sunday, August 30.
The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) said one fire appliance from Armagh Fire Station, one from Keady Fire Station and a Specialist Rescue Team attended the scene following reports of a water rescue.
Firefighters used specialist rescue equipment to reach and recover the two casualties from the water before transferring them to the care of the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS). The incident was brought under control by 10.03pm.
A NIAS spokesperson confirmed they received a 999 call at 8.49pm “following reports of an incident in the Glen Macha area, Armagh”.
“NIAS tasked 1 HART (Hazardous Area Response Team) to the incident,” the spokesperson added.
No one was taken from the scene to hospital.
