Dunlewey Addiction Services has opened a new satellite clinic in Armagh, strengthening local access to vital addiction, counselling and family support services for young people and communities across the region.

The new office, based in Lurgyyallen Business Park, 72 Cathedral Road, Armagh, will support the organisation’s ongoing work with children, young people and families affected by substance misuse, gaming and gambling-related harms.

The expansion reflects increasing demand for early intervention, trauma-informed support and accessible community-based services.

Dunlewey Addiction Services currently provides confidential counselling, mentoring, family support, education and harm reduction programmes for young people aged 11–25 and their families.

There is also a drop-in clinic starting on June 16, which will run every Tuesday, from 4pm to 6pm.

The new Armagh office will enhance local delivery across Armagh, Banbridge, Craigavon, Dungannon and Newry & Mourne, ensuring that young people and families can access support closer to home.

Pauline Campbell, CEO of Dunlewey Addiction Services, said: “We are delighted to open our new satellite clinic in Armagh as part of our commitment to supporting young people and families across the region.

“We know that issues around addiction, mental health, gaming and gambling can affect every aspect of a young person’s life, and early support can make a lasting difference. This new space allows us to strengthen our community presence and provide free, safe, accessible and confidential support where it is needed most.”

The expansion also supports Dunlewey’s new initiatives funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

This initiative is focused on gaming and gambling harms among young people aged 11–17. Planned programmes include trauma-informed assessments, counselling, outreach in schools and communities, information workshops and peer-informed steering groups.

As part of its community engagement approach, Dunlewey will continue working alongside local schools, health services, community organisations and young people themselves to reduce stigma and improve awareness around addiction and emotional wellbeing.

Dunlewey Addiction Services encourages anyone concerned about substance use, gaming or gambling behaviours to seek support early.

The Public Health Agency (PHA) funds the delivery of drug and alcohol support services through Dunlewey Addiction Services.
