Coronavirus: Omniplex closes all cinemas across Northern Ireland

It operates all over Northern Ireland including Armagh, Dunganon, Craigavon, Newry and Lisburn

Omniplex is closing all of its cinemas across Northern Ireland.

The company had previously closed all outlets in the Republic of Ireland.

It had also introduced a ‘social distancing’ measure by leaving spaces between seats.

But tonight it has confirmed that latest advice has been to close altogether.

The Omniplex operates all over Northern Ireland including Armagh, Craigavon, Newry, Dungannon and Lisburn.

It said in a social media post: “Following on from our announcement of the closure of Omniplex Cinemas in the Republic of Ireland, we have made the difficult decision to also close all Omniplex Cinemas in Northern Ireland tonight due to updated Government advice until the 29th of March.

“We will review our re-opening date in line with Government advice.

“All online pre-booked tickets will be automatically refunded in the coming days, if you have booked your tickets in-cinema please email feedback@omniplex.ie.”
