Armagh’s Mall to become 25k Camino for promotion of Irish language and culture

Armagh Mall

Armagh’s Camino lovers won’t have to go far to travel this August to get their steps in!

Irish language centre and social enterprise, Aonach Mhacha is preparing to host a major fundraising day on August 23, 2025 with the Spanish pilgrimage as inspiration.

The event – entirely focused on promoting the Irish language and culture in the heart of Armagh – offers a fantastic opportunity for the wider community to directly invest in the rich future of Irish language and culture in this historic city.

As part of the day participants will do a sponsored walk around the mall in Armagh.

Walkers will do 25 laps of the mall, walking a total of 25k. But the fun doesn’t end there!

The day will be full of food, fun, music, and community spirit, with the aim of raising essential funds to allow Aonach Mhacha to continue its vital work.

They offer Irish language classes for all levels, from beginners to fluent speakers, cultural events that celebrate Irish music, dance, and storytelling, and support community initiatives that promote Irish in everyday life.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come and participate, whether you are an Irish speaker or simply someone who wants to support the excellent work of Aonach Mhacha.

There will be entertainment for all, and the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals who are passionate about Irish language and culture.

If you wish to participate as member of the fundraising team and walk with Aonach Mhacha get in touch by enquiring at reception, telephoning 02837 998 111, via email at failte@aonachmhacha.com, or by clicking the link: https://forms.office.com/e/XpnHV248D4?origin=lprLink
