Armagh Courthouse

An Armagh teenager has appeared in court accused of being in possession of a kitchen knife.

The 19-year-old was released on bail with conditions including a ban on alcohol and a curfew.

Ethan Ian McDowell, of Hollow Drive, appeared charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place at the City’s Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

The alleged offence occurred on September 9 on the Loughgall Road with the blade being referred to as a kitchen knife.

A constable, who was present in court, said that she believed she could connect McDowell to the offences.

Defence barrister Conor Coulter made no contrary submissions to this.

The case was adjourned until October 15 for instructions to be perfected.

McDowell was released on his own bail of £500, conditions of this included; not to consume alcohol, to report to Armagh police station three times a week and a curfew between 10pm and 7am.
